Vocabulary Revamp

Happy Thursday!

Last week and this week, I became overwhelmingly frustrated by my lack of research-based vocabulary materials.

I have always felt that guidance on how to teach vocabulary was lacking, not to mention the lack of high-quality, teletherapy-friendly treatment materials. So, I dove into the research to see what I could do to help!

First, I headed over to The Informed SLP. I read through 3 years of research reviews on vocabulary and picked out the articles that applied to my clients.

Next, I created a new treatment protocol.

Last, I made some "no print," effortless materials to match my new protocol. I am so sick of teaching words to children just because there are cute graphics for those words. What is the point?! We can do better.

Of course, I like to keep things accessible and functional so these materials combine some direct teaching with "fun" flashcards using Google Slides and then some "challenges" for generalization practice while reading.

Attention Members

Hi guys!

I have 3 tier vocab decks for K, 1st, and 2nd grade up and running. I am working on 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade as I write this. I will be adding more as the weeks go on.

Each deck has 5 words, but honestly, I am only able to get through about 3 words max per session so they will last a few sessions to say the least!

I have been loving them so let me know what you think!

Also, in case you missed it, there are new holiday materials and phonological materials up so I left the links so you can check them out.
