Ask Your Children About Their Day

I can't stress this enough! It is important to ask your children about their day for oh so many reasons, too many reasons to discuss right here. For an SLP, discussing the day can target many language skills such as story-telling, answering/asking questions, vocabulary, and grammar.

However, for some children, answering..."how was your day?"...is quite hard. This page has great tips for parents and for professionals to share with parents about how to ask children, who have a communication disorder, about their day.

If you don't have time to click below today...remember 3 things:

  1. Visuals, visuals, visuals!
  2. Provide options for answers if a child is stuck
  3. Don't rush it or talk over your child!
That is all for now. Have a great day!
