Low gpa for speech pathology

Hello!
I recently graduated from college with my bachelors in Speech,Language, and Hearing. My GPA is embarrassingly low though and I'm scared I wont be able to get into a Masters Program. I don't really have a good excuse for why it is so low. I just simply bit off more than I could chew when taking my classes and didn't have the funds to retake them. I know that this is what I want to do for a living and I am willing to do anything that I can to help me become a Speech Pathologist. I recently accepted a position to be a special education teachers assistant, and hope that this experience will help me when I apply to schools. Please if there is any advice that you can give to help me when I am applying for my Masters. I am the only one to really go to college and was to shy to really get a mentor to ask questions to, so anything would help. Am I able to apply for my Masters and retake some classes then? Do I try to explain my low GPA in my personal statement?

Thank You!
